
Bio
As a researcher at Salzburg Research and through an in-kind contract with the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Digital Health and Prevention, Dominik Hofer is pursuing his doctorate in Human-Computer Interaction from LMU Munich. He holds master’s degrees in Information Technology and System Management (Data Science) from Salzburg University of Applied Sciences and Human-Computer Interaction from the University of Salzburg. His research focuses on AI-driven personalization for physical activity and health prevention, employing both qualitative and quantitative methods. His expertise spans Human-AI Interaction, Persuasive Technology, Context Aware Computing, and Affective Computing.
Aktuelle Forschungsprojekte
1. Adapting Health Interventions to Personality
Investigating how personality traits can be used to customize just-in-time adaptive interventions (JITAIs), making digital health support more personally relevant and effective.
2. Smart Learning in Health Interventions
Using machine learning (Multi-Armed Bandits) combined with Large Language Models to improve how health interventions learn and adapt to individual users over time.
