PhD research adapts health behavior models to micro-timescales for personalized health interventions

In his PhD dissertation, David Haag demonstrates how social-cognitive and dual process theories of health behavior may work at ‘micro-timescales’ of hours or days, not just for long-term goals. Moreover, the research includes a successful proof of concept using AI-powered just-in-time adaptive interventions (JITAIs) that outperformed the acceptability of JITAI suggestions generated by healthcare professionals or laypersons.
